Kangaroute

Kangaroute is a spatial environment for navigating and publishing (dynamic HTML) complex markdown knowledge systems.

Built for researchers, explorers, teachers, writers, and deep thinkers, Kangaroute transforms interconnected markdown text files (.md) into a living visual graph—allowing you to move through ideas, relationships, structures, and even geo-spatial regions with clarity that traditional folders and lists cannot provide.

Kangacontrol provides the full working environment for editing, organizing, and presenting your graph. From layered architecture and cluster definition to parameterized 2.5D physics and individual node control, it gives you precision over how knowledge is structured and experienced.

Kangaview exports that configured graph as a fully dynamic standalone HTML environment—preserving the visual relationships, navigation logic, and presentation flow for personal reference, teaching, collaboration, or web publication.

Sample (basic) workflow:

  • Develop a markdown folder (or “vault”) containing markdown text files (.md) using an editor such as Obsidian (Obsidian.md). Use the “[[]]” syntax to create connections between the text files.
  • Open Kangaroute and import that folder from your local drive (files stay local).
  • Kangaroute will display a knowledge graph displaying your connections.
  • Click on a node to change it’s color, labeling, change to flashing, etc.
  • Shift+click on a node to see the contents of the node.
  • Explore the other features like the HTML export (Kangaview), cluster parameters, layering, routing, grouping, and filtering (Structure dialog).

Kangaroute offers:

  • companion functionality for markdown editors such as Obsidian (Obsidian.md) using standard markdown folders (for Obsidian, “vaults”) with .md files, .pdf files, or embedded web links (https://)
  • knowledge graph control through Kangacontrol, including layers, clusters, route logic, and individual node customization
  • fully dynamic HTML export through Kangaview, reproducing configured graph environments for presentation and publication
  • integration with public and private GitHub repositories, including workflows alongside Obsidian Git
  • route presets through predetermined node logic paths, allowing guided movement through complex knowledge structures
  • adjustable cluster definition with configurable k-hop relationships
  • physics engine ON/OFF control for direct positioning, performance efficiency, and presentation stability
  • savable and recallable workspace configurations
  • persisted projects in the OUTRRcontrol ecosystem
  • note (.md) files stay local unless the user’s project is connected to GitHub (private/public)

Kangaroute is accessed through subscription (with free trial period) inside the OUTRRcontrol environment.
